KDA Congratulates its 2009 Grammy®-Nominated Artists

Intimate Letters, the Emerson String Quartet's latest recording of Janacek and Martinu chamber works, has been nominated for a 2009 Grammy® award in the category of "Best Chamber Music Performance." Roberto Sierra garnered a nomination in the category of "Best Classical Contemporary Composition" for Missa Latina ‘Pro Pace,' whose world premiere with the National Symphony Orchestra and subsequent Naxos recording with the Milwaukee Symphony featured soprano Heidi Grant Murphy and baritone Nathaniel Webster. Tenor Philippe Castagner sang on conductor Alastair Willis' recording of Ravel's L'Enfant Et Les Sortilèges, which is nominated for "Best Classical Album." Conductor Robert Spano's recording of Yehudi Wyner's Piano Concerto "Chiavi In Mano" is also nominated in the category of "Best Classical Contemporary Composition." Additionally, Spano's recording, Transmigration is nominated in the field of "Best Surround Sound Album." The 52nd Grammy® awards will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2010 and telecast on CBS.
